Details and Rules

Thank you for your interest in the Bishop Arts Brew Riot and Homebrew Competition.

The 2012 Homebrew Competition will be a part of Bishop Arts Brew Riot and will be held Sunday May 20 on Bishop Ave between 7th and 8th streets. The fest will take place from 4 to 8 pm. However, we are asking our homebrewers to please check in and get set up at 2:00 pm.

All entry forms and fee ($20) are due May 11th. Proceeds of the Brew Riot and Homebrew Competition will benefit Go Oak Cliff.

We plan for the event to be very educational yet fun. We strongly encourage: decorating your table, demonstrations, coming in costume and promoting the homebrew craft in any way. A people’s choice award will be given and we feel that brewers that share and entertain will be favored.

Please note: Due to last year’s freak thunderstorm we do not have tents to rent out. If you cannot find one, please let me know. Your entry fee does include a table and 2 chairs, sample glasses and rinse pitcher.

If you have any questions, please email

stacey@spillersgroup.com or call 214-620-1392 .

We look forward to hearing from you.

1) All entry forms and fee are due before 5/11.

2) This contest is open to all amateur home-brewers who brew less than 200 gallons of beer, 21 years of age and older, and is restricted to non-commercial, home brewed beers.

4) It is recommended that brewers provided 5 gallons of beer for the public to taste.  One pint of that should be reserved for judging.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top scorer in all 5 categories (flavored beers, specialty, ciders and barley wine will be combined.)

A people choices award will also be given. The winner of this award will receive a golden mug as well has have their picture placed on the Eno’s Wall of Fame.

  1. Do you know if any of the brewers are making gluten-free beers? I love beer, but since my diagnosis with Celiac Disease in 2001, my hoppy options have been pretty limited.

    Thanks!
